KUWAIT, July 7 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, State Minister for Development Affairs and State Minister for Housing Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received on Tuesday Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad Al-Samarraie.

The meeting took place at the Cabinet's Secretariat at Seif Palace.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.
Attending the meeting was head of the accompanying delegation of honor MP Mubarak Al-Khurainij.

KUWAIT, July 7 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received, at Seif Palace on Tuesday, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad Al-Samarraie.

The meeting took place in the presence of Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, State Minister for Development Affairs and State Minister for Housing Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Attending the meeting were Advisor at the Premier's Diwan Faisal Mohammad Al-Hajji, State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Abdulaziz Al-Roudhan, head of the accompanying delegation of honor MP Mubarak Al-Khurainij, Foreign Undersecretary Khalid Sulaiman Al-Jarallah, Undersecretary at the Premier's Diwan Sheikha Etemad Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to Iraq Lt. Gen. Ali Mohammad Al-Momen (ret.), and Assistant Undersecretary at the Premier's Diwan Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

La reunión tuvo lugar en presencia de Kuwait por el Viceprimer Ministro de Economía, Ministro de Estado para Asuntos de Desarrollo y Ministro de Estado para Asuntos de Vivienda Jeque Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Asistieron a la reunión en el Asesor del Primer Ministro Mohammad Faisal Diwan Al-Hajji, Ministro de Estado para Asuntos del Gabinete Roudhan Abdulaziz Al-Roudhan, jefe de la delegación que acompaña GP de honor Mubarak Al-Khurainij, Subsecretario de Relaciones Exteriores Khalid Sulaiman Al-Jarallah, Subsecretario en la Premier del Diwan Jequesa Etemad Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, el Embajador de Kuwait a Irak Teniente General Ali Mohammad Al-Momen (R), Subsecretario y Asistente del Primer Ministro en el Diwan Jeque Fahad Al-Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al -Sabah.

Ban Ki-moon intends to appoint Ad Melkert as Special Representative for Iraq

The Secretary-General has informed the Security Council of his intention to appointed Ad Melkert of the Netherlands as his Special Representative for Iraq. Mr. Melkert currently serves as the Associate Administrator of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and will replace Staffan de Mistura, who has taken up his duties at the World Food Programme (WFP). The Secretary-General is grateful for Mr. de Mistura’s valuable leadership in a challenging security environment in Iraq.

Mr. Melkert brings to the new position a unique combination of extensive political experience, as a former Member of Parliament and Minister in The Netherlands, and economic and development expertise from his time at UNDP and the World Bank. As a result, he enters with a deep understanding of the nature of challenges and priorities that face Iraq at this phase of its transition.
